Los Angeles is hurting. Our neighborhoods are reeling from immigration raids, protests, and a climate of fear. For many in our community, these aren’t distant headlines—they are everyday realities. At DIY Girls, we stand with our students, families, and neighbors during this time of uncertainty and urgency.
DIY Girls is rooted in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, a community built by immigrants and powered by perseverance. We understand this fear because it lives in our communities and touches our lives. Our work is rooted in that shared reality and a belief in equity, safety, and opportunity for every child.
We know that learning can’t thrive without safety. Innovation can’t flourish without hope. Our students can’t succeed unless they are seen, valued, and supported—fully and unapologetically. Though these times test us, they also remind us why our work matters. We envision a future where our students lead boldly in STEM fields, breaking barriers and creating new paths.
